On given days, practices outside may be canceled due to film sessions, team bonding activities, or rest and recovery day. Please make sure you are aware of these as they come about.

Make sure all players have a ride after practices and after games. All JV games start at 5:45 pm.

Both teams will not practice over spring break due to club tournaments. This time is for rest and recovry and to get caught up on school work.  It is encouraged to make sure you stay active and get touches in and a light jog to keep the legs loose.

First 7 Rules

The First 7

The First 7

1. Please communicate with your student athlete's coach. If you feel your athlete, or you, has been offended, the coach can probably address the issue with you better than a third party.

2. Please do not teach your student athlete that the answer to “failure” and “unhappiness” is to quit (example would be to pull them off the team). We want to communicate and teach commitment.

3. Please remember that coaches make all the decisions regarding playing time (popular and unpopular)

4. Please be twice as vocal in supporting our team as you are in criticizing our team.

5. Please remember that your child will have to respect and follow the leadership of their coach. This is very difficult to do if they hear you consistently talk negatively of the coach or team.

6. Please avoid shouting out specific advice to your child during games. They need to be focused on the voice of their coach and teammates.

7. Please come to pick up your child from practice and games in a timely manner. Please keep in mind a time frame of 30 minutes of practice concluding and from away games.

Soccer IQ

1. Technique is not being able to juggle a ball 1000 times. Anyone can do that by practicing. Then you can work in the circus. Technique is passing the ball with one, with the right speed, at the right foot of your team mate.

2. Someone who has juggled the ball in the air during the game, after which four defenders of the opponent get the time it run back, that’s the player people think is great. I say he has to go to the circus.

3. Choose the best player for every position and you will end up not with a strong 11 but with 11 strong 1’s.

4. In my teams, the goalie is the first attacker and the striker is the first defender

5. Before I make a mistake, I do not make that mistake

6. I always threw the ball in, because then if I got the ball back, I was the only player unmarked

7. Players that are not true leaders but try to be always bash other players after a mistake. True leaders on the pitch already assume others will make mistake.

8. What is speed? The sports press often confuses speed with insight. See, if I start running slightly earlier than someone else, I seem faster

9. When you play a match, it is statistically proven that players actually have the ball 3 minutes on average… so, the most important thing is: what do you do during those 87 minutes when you do not have the ball. That is what determines whether you are a good player or not.

10. After you won something, you are no longer 100%, but 90%. It’s like a bottle of carbonated water where the cap is removed for a short while. Afterwards there is a little less gas inside

11. There is only one ball so you need to have it

12. We must make sure their worst players get the ball the most. You will get it back in no time

13. If you have the ball you must make the field as big as possible and if you do not have the ball, you must make it as small as possible

14. Quality without results is pointless. Results without quality is boring

15. There are very few players who know what to do when they are not marked. Sometimes you have to tell a player: “That attacker is very good, but do not mark him.”

16. Playing soccer is very simple but playing simple soccer is the hardest thing there is

Pot of Golden Success

Team Pot of Golden Success: ONE TEAM …ONE HEART…

What I want from the team is:

- People to play with HEART

- To start working with the intensity that I know we all have.  Everyone on the team has something special they can bring to this team .  We need to step up as a team instead of waiting for individuals to step up.  We need to start trusting each other and encouraging each other to be the bets we can be.

- The team to step up and work harder in practice.

- I want my team to give me their full effort and a positive attitude in return

- Respect and people to trust in each other and for people to look up to me on the field.

- The desire and heart for the game

- To play possession and work the ball up the field and get a goal.

- Friendship and effort and to teach me to be a better player

- to give me some type of trust, which I am working hard to earn.

- to be motivated and passionate at practice and in games

- is effort.  I’d like to win, but if we don’t, knowing that we went out and tried is good enough.

-  to be completely dedicated.  Everyone to work as hard as they can and to come to practice ready to work

- want us to come together and act and play together.  I want us to work on winning and learn to communicate.

- To function more as a unit all of the time

- to become a family

-  To continue to be patient with me and to force me to become a better player and encourage me to keep working harder.

- We should ALL want to play and work hard to win!!

I am willing to give the team:

- Everything I can do to help

- I am going to work on playing with more confidence and be less intimidated.

- I want to give my all to the team and work harder in practice.

- To give my team my full effort and my positive attitude.

-  To give all my skill and my hardest effort every game and every practice.

-  I am willing to give my time and effort and in every game to give it my all.

-To give it my all every game and to walk out of the game with my head held high knowing that I tried my best and left everything on the field.

- my best effort on the field and to play well

-  Dedication and determination.  I will go into every game with the desire to win.

- Willing to work hard and give everything I have with passion

-  to give my time and effort and willing to learn new positions  and learn from my teammates as well as take criticism and advice from the team.

- To give my time and dedication to this team and always try to work my hardest.  Also I will listen and be open for any help and use it too the best of my ability.

- to give my time and effort and make the team better and for me to pay attention to what my team is trying to tell me and work on it. “ I want to learn a lot from you guys!”

- Whatever any of the girls need (moral support, friend, a shoulder to cry on, anything).

- To try my hardest and give my team my all and to always keep my head up

- give my all, give up my time to spend time with the team, try my hardest in practice,  stay positive and I will not be scared.

- I am willing to admit that I do not know a lot about soccer compared to my teammates and I really want to learn from them and bring my positive attitude and hard work to be a better player
